When the team began work on the new clubhouse, the goal was clear: create a welcoming and versatile space where people can connect, relax, and enjoy.

As Juan Joubert from Scribbles Interior Design explains:

“When we started The St Francis Links Clubhouse project, their number one priority was comfort and a large emphasis on spaciousness and gathering places that encourage communication.
Planning the interior design, it was crucial to consider both functionality and aesthetics to create a welcoming and enjoyable space for members and guests.
We took a great deal of our cues as far as colour and texture from the natural beauty outside. We wanted to emphasise the beautiful colours associated with Cape Fynbos found in our area which is why we used shades of green as well as muted black.
The furniture was custom-made using oak which offers a natural and warm feel as well as longevity.”

Joubert’s approach brings the outdoors in creating a harmony between the lush landscape of St Francis and the interior spaces where guests gather. The end result is a space that feels deeply rooted in the area, both elegant and approachable.

Thoughtful Lighting and Effortless Airflow

No detail was overlooked in the transformation of the clubhouse. To complement the natural tones and textures of the interior, Selective Lighting was brought in to design the lighting scheme. From feature pendants to ambient wall lights, the lighting highlights the architectural lines of the space while creating a sense of calm and intimacy, ideal for dinners, social gatherings, and quiet coffee catchups alike.

To complete the environment, Selective Fans supplied stylish ceiling fans that enhance airflow while elevating the overall aesthetic. Carefully selected to match the scale and tone of the space, the fans add both comfort and visual interest, ensuring the clubhouse remains cool, inviting, and energy-efficient.
